The Assembly Process Group Develops And Implements New Assembly Processes That Enable The Robust Production Of Transmission And Drive Units.
Gm’s New “Right Work” Philosophy Allows Our Process Engineers To Work Remotely When There Is No Need To Do The Work That Is Most Efficient On Site (Lab, Plant, Supplier, Etc.). This Position Involves Occasional Travel To Various Gm Sites And Supplier Locations In Supplier Project Implementation. The Process Engineer Is Responsible For Transmission And Drive Unit Assembly Projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design, Engineer, Build And Implement Machinery, Tooling And Equipment For The Best Assembly Process For Manufacturing Transmissions And Powertrains.
- Focus On The Design, Engineering, Integration, Plant Installation, Successful Start-Up And Continuous Improvement Of The Equipment And Tooling Needed In Plants To Produce High Quality Parts. Control Program And/Or Equipment Costs And Time And Ensure Expenditures Remain Within Allocated Budget.
- Provide Technical Guidance And Management Of External Vendor Resources. Development And Testing Of Advanced Process Technologies.
- Develop And Maintain Required Documentation (Pfd, Pfmea, Pcp)
- Utilize Gd&Amp;T Skills To Ensure Manufacturing Equipment, Tooling, Assembly Processes, And Quality Assurance Procedures Meet Design Requirements. Travel Requirements – Up To 20% (Us, Canada And Mexico)
More Description
5+ Years Of Assembly Process Experience In Manufacturing Or Manufacturing Engineering With Plant Experience (Powertrains, Transmissions, Engine Or Powertrain Components). Strong Technical Knowledge And Skills In Process Engineering And Product Development Process Disciplines
- Experience In Process Development, Specification, Procurement, And Qualification Of Equipment And Tools.
- Solid Understanding Of High Volume Manufacturing And Assembly Processes
Preference:
Demonstrated Understanding Of Manufacturing Equipment And Design For Manufacturing. Me Assignments With Successful Individual Performance Or Strong Team Performance.
- Knowledge Or Experience With Boe, Bop, Bose, And Boo Transmission / Power Unit A Plus.
- Knowledge Of Autocad, Team Center, Microsoft Project, and Simulation. Practice Solving Statistical Problems.
